Vox Chops

In 2015, a group of warm hearted humans with a love of singing came together to form Vox Chops.  We started small with only a handful of singers and before long we’d quadrupled in numbers and needed a larger rehearsal space.  

Our choir is made of a whole mix of people with different experience and each of us brings something in our own way. Some people like to solo so we encourage that, some like to arrange and compose music so that gets showcased too.

We sing a lot of really old songs.  Like mostly jazz from the 1930’s and 40’s and latin and soul music from the 60’s, just to keep it interesting we throw a bit of new stuff in there too.   Like all choirs, it’s a tiny bit daggy and a whole lot of fun which of course makes it super cool.

While we are an auditioned choir who get a kick out of tackling complex harmony, rather than focussing on precision, our attention is brought back to listening to one another, staying attuned and the joy we generate when we literally vibe off each other week after week.
